Kitesurfing at Gökova runs on a clock. The 3 km kite beach at Akçapınar, at the head of the mountain-framed gulf, fills in with its thermal around noon almost every day of the season; the sandy bottom stays shallow for some 150 m and half a dozen schools line the sand — the Kite Beach Otel sleeps you three minutes away. Mornings are glassy and free, which suits everyone who is not riding. Note: the kite beach is at Akçapınar, ~1.5 km along the sand from Akyaka village.
