Turkey's kitesurfing ace runs on a timetable. At Gökova, a mountain-framed gulf, the thermal switches on around midday nearly every day from May to October, over water that stays shallow, sandy and flat for hundreds of metres. Alaçatı adds the Meltemi and a bay that made its name in windsurfing before kites arrived. Both put the hotel and the school on the same stretch of beach.
