Kitesurfing at Vrouwenpolder is Zeeland's biggest official kite zone, on the seaward side of the Veerse Dam: sandbanks trap a shallow, flat lagoon at high tide — beginner gold — and the Breezand Beachhouses stand directly on the sand, with the Vertigo Sports school and shop on the beach after 20 years on this dam. Wide, safe, and close enough to drive to from Belgium or Germany for a weekend.
