Kitesurfing at Essaouira takes place at the southern end of a 3 km sickle bay, in front of the historic ION Club – Ocean Vagabond center facing the Mogador islands, with Explora Watersports on the same south corniche and Villa Quieta 150 m behind the sand. The trade wind comes up every afternoon from April to October. The medina and its riads are a 30-minute beach walk north — atmospheric, and the reason a non-riding partner never runs out of things to do, but not on the spot.
