Kitesurfing in
PortugalNORTADA THERMALS

Europe's Atlantic thermal

Portugal's most consistent kitesurfing wind lives at Viana do Castelo, on the Cabedelo beach at the mouth of the Lima river. The nortada thermal blows 20 to 30 knots from noon to sunset all summer, a breakwater grooms a flat beginner zone beside the open beach, and a sport hotel with its own water centre stands in the dunes two minutes from the launch. GKA World Championship pedigree, with a UNESCO-listed town centre behind it.
